Change platform without breaking what works
A migration is judged three months later, not on launch day. What costs money is never moving the catalogue, it is what gets forgotten.
Which direction, and why
To Shopify when your catalogue is simple and you want to stop running a server. You trade freedom for time, and for many retailers that is the right deal.
To PrestaShop when your selling rules no longer fit: per customer pricing, B2B orders, approval before ordering, connection to a business tool. You take back control, and the responsibility that comes with it.
We will tell you if the migration is not justified. Changing platform to solve a problem that does not come from it costs money and fixes nothing.
What gets lost when nobody handles it
Search rankings. Every product page has an indexed address. Platforms do not build addresses the same way: without a redirect plan every old address becomes an error and the accumulated value disappears.
Customer reviews. Often stored by a platform specific module, so absent from the catalogue export. That is social proof which is hard to rebuild.
Order history. Needed for customer service and for your accounts.
Carefully written descriptions. Automatic exports happily strip formatting, tables and embedded images.
How we work
We first inventory what actually exists: indexed addresses, active and discontinued products, reviews, customers, orders, pricing and shipping rules. That inventory is your guarantee nothing disappears silently.
The new store is built in parallel, without touching the one that sells. You approve it before any switch. Going live happens during a quiet period, and the old store stays reachable internally for several weeks.
Then we watch: crawl errors, rankings, conversion rate against the same period last year. A drop in conversion without a drop in traffic is not a search problem, look at the checkout instead.
Frequently asked
Will I lose sales during the migration?
No. The new store is built in parallel and the old one keeps selling until the switch, which takes a few minutes.
What about my rankings?
That is the main part of the work. Every old address is redirected to its closest equivalent, never to the homepage in bulk.
How long does it take?
Three to six weeks depending on catalogue size and how many selling rules need reproducing. The initial inventory lets us commit to a firm deadline.
