Free tool

Alternative text generator.

Enter a page address. The tool lists the images with no alternative text, looks at each one, and suggests an alt. You leave with a CSV and ready-to-paste tags.

What’s it for?

Alternative text is what a blind visitor hears instead of your image, and what Google reads when it cannot see it. Without it, a product photo is a blank in the page, and an image button is a link with no name.

  • WCAG 1.1.1, one of the most frequently failed criteria.
  • Decorative images are recognised and left with an empty alt, as they should be.
  • Nothing is invented: an unreadable image is flagged, not described at random.
